Recently, I visited Yosemite and Crater Lake National Parks as part of a long road trip. Want to come along?
We started our Yosemite journey from the South entrance. I like big trees—I cannot lie– and a visit to the Mariposa Grove of sequoias, via a shuttle, was filled with joyful wonder, despite the rain. A guide told us that not all big, red trees in the park are sequoias. Some are incense cedars which have a harder bark.
These giant trees have relatively small cones.

A reason to visit Yosemite in the spring is to see the waterfalls created by snow melt. Yosemite Falls is a unique double falls. You can hike to the top, although we didn’t. Another popular moderate to strenuous hike is the Mist Trail to the top of Vernal and Nevada Falls. It can be slippery when wet and we didn’t hike that one either.

We got up close and personal with Bridalveil Falls. It had quite a roar!
We even got snowed on a little bit.
I have more to share but this file is already large.
To be continued with rocks and rivers.
